In the first HoI the US state of Oklahoma has the city Tulsa on it. Our capital is Oklahoma City not sure why Tulsa was picked but as far as importance to the state Tulsa is way under Oklahoma city. I'm sure this is jsut a nitpick but i live in oklahoma and was amazed Tulsa would even come up. Hopefully the city wont be Tulsa in HOI2

i seem to recall that we kentuckians got stuck with louisville, which is unfortunate. people from louisville don't want to be thought of as kentuckians, and the rest of us certainly don't want to be associated with louisville.

True. There is a province of Hong Kong, owned by UK. And another province of Kowloon, owned by Nat. China.

In reality, Kowloon is part of Hong Kong and was owned by UK. :p

I prefered Tulsa over OC since it has a more original and beutiful name - I'm sure you don't agree :D. My wife's from Stillwater, she is the third Oki girl we lovely Swedish boys managed to lure over here .

Exactly, for alternative historic gameplay the US, South America and Siberia are just as important. I want to be able to break the last Commonwealth resistance on the banks of the Yukon ... or even the shores of Antarctica :p

Please ... can we have smaller provinces in the US as well ... pretty please ... with sugar on top

And yes the US provnces were very important during the war. Where do you think alot of the equipment and resources the other allies were using were coming from ?

I don't think that he meant the provinces themselves weren't important, but rather that since very little of the action in the game takes place there the names become less important. Also, cities that aren't as important nowadays might very well have been the industrial center then. I don't know if that's true in your case, but I can imagine that it might be in others. But yes, anyway I agree, for a more historical feel it would be nice to have more accurate province names there too (and hopefully more provinces too for when the invasion of the US takes place :p).

WHo cares about wich is the largest city and that should be in... I live in Kalmar, Sweden. Kalmar is the name of the province in HoI But Jönköping is larger and was more important during the war. So Jönköping should be the name of the province.. I wouldnt like that but it should of been... In hOi 2 I think Småland will be divided in 2 territories: Kalmar and Växjö Or Kalmar and Jönköping.

I always thought that in the case of the US anyway, since the provinces in HOI I were roughly equivalent to state boundaries, they should have been named with the state names rather than city names.

"Illinois" instead of "Chicago", "Kentucky" instead of "Louisville", "New York" instead of "New York".... oh... wait.. nevermind on that one. :)

Uhh you're close to the state that saying is about but a little to far North. that saying is about Texas. :) As far as the most important city during WW2 then it would definately be oklahoma city and not tulsa.

Well, the case is the same for many countries, however, the area might not be organized the same if the territory changes hands (like the oblasts in the SU IIRC), which makes it easier to just name the territory after the largest/most important city in the region.
