Its now 1870 and i still have not had the Meiji event for japan i rejected the ditch letter so what gives why am i missing to trigger the event to turn japan into a industral country ?

Did you get the US Perry mission in 1853? If not then that is one reason why. That event wouldnt fire if the US didnt have a port on the west coast at the time. Happened to me once.

Checking the files for Revolutions (without VIP), it requires that you not be at war, have had Perry visit event, constitutional crisis event, chosen a shogun to lead Japan (Naosuke or Nariakira), had that shogun assassinated, and not be civilized.
AFAIK these are the same requirements for Victoria 1.4 as well.

Also, if you picked the hardliners in both events you won't get the Meiji event! From the event descriptions it seems like this should lead to reforms and civilizing, but it doesn't.
playing vic 1.4 and the us is um howq do i put it fucked up its been split up between the csa and mexico pretty much lol and never mind i got the event in 1871 and never had perry vist so they have no west coast ports all they have are some on the east cost but its ok cuz the event fired up in 1871 anyway so its sucks tho cuz now am behinde
