And have exhausted my manpower just about. I'm wanting to try this Nejd into arabia one more time and this time do it more properly. I mean sure i can take hedjaz for high infamy by letting them ally yemen and then adding conquest of hedjaz as a wargoal the day before i peace out but then i'm not sure if i should waste my manpower by fighting this comically easy war. (even easier if you wait to get a general) Perhaps it would be better just to conquest yemen outright for the lit and then turtle for a few years? thoughts?

edit: side note, i think the strategy on the wiki is a little out of date, hence why i'm not using it.
second side note, I'm also questioning if i should use the restore order CB afterwards on oman since it gives me a Pain of a border with portugal but free cores. last time i just took both ahbudabi and oman in one war but think i missed some research points there

You're really better off forming Arabia as Egypt. You'll technically take longer to form it, but you'll westernize quicker and end up in a much stronger position. Most of united Arabia's population is Egyptian, anyway, so may as well work on improving their literacy on day 1.

Yeah take the Egypt route, I think you can conquer Nejd then release it as puppet and you will get the decision.
sorry, i'm specifically not playing egypt. Their starting position is stronger i'll give them that but i want to play the game through as Nejd. mostly because i can but also for the fact that i'm not trying to rise to a great power.

Personal preference I guess, what does it matter why?

because its a question to ask still? From a gameplay perspective its just limiting you on what you can do both GP mechanic wise but also forcing you to avoid growing to much and becoming one, but from an RP perspective it makes even less sense

Right, it is limiting you but no more than house rules or specifically chosing a less powerful nation or an unciv to play as rather than choosing to play the UK or China to play as. Like I said, personal preference.

Are you OP? No? Stop white knighting him then, i asked him the question, not you.
sorry i haven't checked the forum in a bit.
The reason i'm not aiming to be a GP is mostly due to the fact that I'm just seeing how far i can take Nejd. My aim is to progress and grow simply and to have the game go at a pace that i find fun. I can take just about any Civilized nation to GP status easily and reliably(except certain Swedish islands but only because RNG) but i just don't know far i can take a Low lit, low pop unciv. The goal isn't GP, that may or may not happen naturally on it's own as i expand and westernize.

plus i like hard starts.. heck i played the duke of east anglia in the old gods start on CK2 just because i knew there was imminent norse doomstacks... I then formed Francia. i've also played the native american minors in EU because i knew.. Europe was coming. I just like hard starts.. Nejd seemed hard but doable and is a good way to test myself to see if i'm ready for other hard Vicky starts.

I brought it to the forums to see if i was reading my situation right and was simply seeking opinions as to if i made an obvious misstake.
Which i have hence learned i have. Hedjaz is still the best first target, but before eating my cores on the peninsula i need to go for Egypt more high pop states. If only to keep momentum.

All you need to do is wait until the Turks sphere you or they lose GP status. It's also a good idea to ally Yemen on the first day, before Hedjaz do.

I like to play non-GP small nations, OPMs, One State Minors and the underdogs. Why? Because blob superpowers aren't the only thing that should be enjoyed. There are small nations in the world too, not every last inch of earth is owned by some giant colonial power. Too bad they made this game way too restrictive for everyone who is not an infamous blob policing the world, but oh well, it is my personal preference to play as small nations.

On topic: I succeeded in my third try as Nejd, conquered Hedjaz. Ottomans kept intervening in other games, but this time they got busy in some crisis.

Key is population. Get some populated land quick, and you'll be well set for a proper challenge and be capable of fielding enough troops to actually matter.

or you can use a humiliate CB against Yemen, Full siege headjaz, add it as war goal and peace out yemen for both. It hurts your soldier pop but it's still managable... Yes i know that's high infamy but i don't seem to luck out with conquest Cbs anyway. plus after you form arabia you have pleanty of demand core CBs against egypt which still give you RP... though oddly restore order doesn't seem to do the same?
