So my King became immortal at age 58, and when his then-queen died a few years later, he married the woman that helped him become immortal. They fell in love. 51 years later, she's still alive (in her 70s, and he's 109.) The event where the King can die in a sex accident fires. He dies.

So my immortal character was made immortal... and killed... by the same woman.

Incidentally, I did NOT plan for a succession, so things are in deep shit right now.

Amusing as the anecdote is it does also highlight a problem, namely event-kills. I mean that events like that shouldn't fire assuming that the person in question is immortal. This should be revised.

It should absolutely not be revised. The whole point of the current immortality, is lack of invulnerability attached to it. If you want god-mod there are plenty of those around.

At least your character died in the bed... my immortal decided to become a berserker and found his way into valhalla in a small skirmish a few days later (god damn it!) [berserker event that instantly kill you in battle, aparently]

But that is basically a "poor-health-death" which is exactly what the immortality trait should protect you against. I am not saying that you should be immune to assassination events or battle ones but that this falls under the jursidiction of the immortality trait in spirit but not in practice.

Incidentally, I'm not pissed. I mean, I'd rather he'd lived to be several hundred years old (he had awesome learning, my tech progress has exceeded pretty much everywhere except Constantinople itself.) but he didn't. The part that worries me is the fact that I have no living heirs to my dynasty after this one (who is 36 and disfigured). That bodes ill.

Well, there's "immortal" and there's "immortal". How many "immortal" evil villains have you seen that have been killed by the plucky yet skillful hero wielding the One True Banesword that takes the "immortal" character out ?

You clearly lack imagination. Think about it, you are immortal, your lover helped you become so and possibly one too, Stabbing each other would be on the low end of depravity you two can indulge in.

She's not immortal for some reason. I did get her to convert to catholicism after marrying her. (She was in my court, so unable to refuse despite being a pagan (Indian) religion.)

She probably realized immortality is a curse and freed me from it. In the process, possibly costing me my whole game. Got one legitimized bastard upon which everything depends. Time for a fertile wife and the seduction focus. And just hope that having been mutilated doesn't matter to someone out there with a womb.

While this thread has given me horrible images in my mind I assume that the event is about the person's body being too aged and frail to stand the wild sexual intercourse that they are having which it should not be, because as you said agelessness.

Kind of makes sense. With the knowledge (or rather belief) that he would never die, he berserked like he had never before dared berserk before, and died as a result.
