I have to reawaken this thread as the main "hotkey" thread in this Forum. I have a problem with some of the hotkeys. The following hotkeys do nothing in my game (Koch Media, German release, English language installed, v1.02):

F7 Open Country overview
S Split a unit in two equal units

Also, the '0' key, which should switch between provinces-states, doesn't work for me, although I can remember it worked once (maybe with 1.01) but only one-way (province to state). I am extremely interested in this key and in the one for splitting armies, as there is no button that does the job - or I cannot find it. Is 'End' doing the same as 'F7' and might you have deactivated the latter?

Yes, that is the location for our keyboards as well. The same key you open the console with in quake based games.

My laptop doesn't have the Pause / Break key.

Although you can reinforce an entire group at once with the fist icon to the right of the general's picture. Many people miss that.

erm.. not until I've pointed out that you can rail a state by keeping the "r" key depressed (for instance by telling it how ugly it looks) and mouseclicking on each of the provinces.

Playing certain countries trains one to learn the shortcut keys. For example, I became expert in hitting the "e" key for expanding RGOs when I civilized China...

Actually, you might want to press 'r', then ',' then 'r' then ',' - the comma key cycles to next province in the state. As Lamprey says, when you're industrializing China, you'll be doing a lot of r,r,r,r,r,r,r
