This is a darn good game.I play my second GC now, this time as Brazil and its so good damn fun that you forget how tedious it is sometimes.
Its so much to do , that it have it all. Although i hardly understand how it works on all levels yet. I did one thing with Sardinia and succeded extremely well, tried the same thing with brazil, didnt work.
With regards to how much you can do in this game i think you will hardly ever tired of it and it has me sweating like HOI never did.

The bad thing is that is sometimes to much micromanagment (yes its true) for instance upgrading your railway system as Brazil is extremely tedious (isnt there a upgrade Railway in for a whole state? or something)

:p

All in all we are some really lucky dudes who have the priviliges to play this game, I Just wanted to let it out:)

If my copy of the manual is representative, then the list of shortcuts is, well, "less than perfect" and with some glaring errors :(

There is a shortkey (r) for expanding railraod. There is also another shortkey for going to the next province in that state.
With both shortkeys you can quickly expand the railroads in one state (if you have enough resources).

Province View Shortcut Keys:

I think the "§" key is the equivalent to the "~" key that exists on American keyboards. I'm not sure, but at least this is what I've noticed whilst playing Quake many years ago, and some more recent American made games.

Hmm... is that some whacky key only in Swedish keyboards ?

In my keyboard (ITA version) you can find it by pressing SHIFT + ù = §.

I don't know if this can help you...

yes, usually it is that key... in all my keyboards it is on the left of the "1" key.

Assuming you have stockpile REALLY lots of materials, enough to build railroads all over the place, indiscriminately, and you just want to get it done in a hurry in a state, start by focusing on one province, and type.....

r,r,r,r,r,r,r (or as many times as you have provinces in the state)

That takes care of one state. ("," and "." cycle through provinces/states/factories/POPs when one of those types of items focused)

You can also do it over multiple states, I seem to remember, by using "0" to go from the province to the state view, then "," to go to the next state, and then hitting - erhmm. I cannot remember which key does this - a key to select a province in the state.

I usually just upgrade on a state by state basis when I am rich enough, though. Same with RGOs, if you just want to make sure there is enough room. They are so cheap to increase in size anyway, that it is more trouble than it is worth to seek out the RGOs where farmers/labourers go unemployed and only upgrade them. :)
