Welcome to the universe where the word ASSAULT means something... :D

I have found one third of an heavy mech thus forth. (Ironically, I found a perfectly reliable way to deal with them-the starter Blackjack fitted with an AC20 + canon. One shot. If only he did not had three other pals...)

When Citytech came out and brought with it Vehicles. A lot of times people discounted them.

But, a pair of Demolisher tanks backed up by LRM and SRM Carriers were a frightening prospect you only ignored once...

Of course, my friend was VERY fond of Savannah Masters... You couldnt kill them all fast enough, and your Heavy Lance taken apart piecemeal.... Like a swarm of angry bees...

Tanks like those are the reason I avoid convoy ambush missions.
First time I tried one I thought I could be some kind of trucks and some mech as escorts...

Turn out that in battletech a 70 tons combat vehicle is an efective way to transport... god know what the hell they were transporting XD

Is like a bloody king tiger with lasers...

And the other tanks in the mission were not nice, a LRM carrier and something with 3 PPCs

Funny thing... when I finally destroyed that manticore Glitch said something in the line of "I kind of feel sorry for the little guys"... [the tank being 20-30 tons heavier than her mech... ]

Yeah tank size is kind of unassuming, it fools you into thinking that something like a Striker isn't equal in tonnage to say, a Jenner.

It would if the mechs werent so hilariously over sized.

Whoever invented demolishers and schrecks should be summarily executed. I always get super giddy at the prospect of an Awesome, but it turns out it’s usually a Schreck that can fire all its ppcs all day without overheating...

This is where sensor lock and my dedicated LRM Griffen come in. Lets you figure out who is who and kill them b4 they can do anything to you. Also have a LRM20 on a Centurion that my main guy rides, along with 2 SRM6. (Basically, starts out at Range, then closes in, then brawls if need be but never does unless its a kill shot or something)

The LRM+SRM combo is nice on the Centurion, At a certain range, with precision strike, you can fire off all your missiles and hit just about every one if not all of them, while giving you the ability to start the fight at a WAY longer range and help your Dedicated LRM Mech.

People tend to forget that tanks actually pack more armor per ton than mechs.
Since mechs have 11 facings to spread points out. Vehicles only 5 (turret, front, sides, rear) to account for.

So if you are going to pound a full armor 80 ton Demolisher from the front, it WILL take a while

The only reason why mech seems tougher overall is because of the Mech's internal structure.
Magic myomer muscles and a ridiculous skeleton with great tensile strength.
For example the Atlas Internal structure weighs 10 tons... But it can support 90 tons of equipment, making it 9x stronger.
So the mech's internal structure can take some abuse.

Tanks however are pretty much the same as modern day, a breach through armor is going to have dead crew and what not. So tank internal structure is comparatively paltry.

Just wait, the LRM 20 isn't going to cut it later. I was drilling full armor shriek ppc carriers with LRM-35 strikes and not killing them outright.
