Game rocks so far, and sooooo much more City than SimCity. Thanks CO - off to the gym then settling in for an evening civil engineering and timetabling. Awesome.

Only issues I've found so far:

- Some ugly triangles on cuttings when placing roads on steep slopes (trying to do a switchback in the tutorial)

- I'd love to be able to hide the buildings and just see the road network without activating the underground view. Maybe there's a key/button for this that I missed.

Things i'd like:

- disable antialiasing for the line/passenger numbers (hard to read as even the numbers get "smoothed")

- make the track lines not shine through the vehicles driving on it (looks weird and you can hardly see a transparent tram on that brightly glowing red line)

- leave the build menu open when building things (helps to see what you've chosen to build at the moment and also helps to quickly build different types of stops, for example)

Those things quickly came to my mind when playing the first hour.

Other than that i've got to say the game looks amazing and seems quite polished. I really like it so far! :)

@Grombeard - yes, I'd like more antialiasing options. Text is too much, but other things aren't quite enough. I'm also finding the game a little dark in general so I'll be looking for a brightness control when I fire it up again.

I also had an issue I can't quite resolve where I can select either the data overlay or the graphs, but I can't work out how to switch between the two. I'm sure I've missed something there.

But oh my word the joy of laying out roads. I can't stop building sweeping bridges over water and city-centre cutting highways. Onramps are a doddle. Bridge supports are missed where roads are crossed intelligently. It really shows incredible polish.

I'm loving the new schedule system, especially since it says how many buses are needed to handle the route. Controls for laying the metro system could use improving

@Reliant - I only had a quick play with the Metro so far. I found a couple of issues, but nothing major:

- finding the track end could be easier underground
- underground it follows terrain rather than staying at a fixed depth if you're not careful
- There are two twin-tracks that seem to be identical - I can't tell what the difference is

Try to adjust AA and AF directly in your graphic cards driver. This is always better than ingame, as you have much more option. Set AF higher and you should be able to read those numbers much better.
Also in the driver you can set options like different AA modes, higher values than ingame, texture filtering and so on.

Indeed, just changed some settings in the Nvidia Control panel, lower FPS now (but still minimum 30), but the game looks even beter on x16 anti aliasing, much more then the game itself does on ultra

I created a totally empty map in the map editor just to play with road laying. And it's the most fun I've had in ages. The road building tools are so simple - but so effective!

I found the answer to my earlier issue on graphs vs data overlay - I'd missed that there's a flyout set of buttons when you select data.

I'm in the first proper map of the campaign now, but I've not got anywhere because I'm just sweeping around looking at the map and giggling like a little kid who's just found the key to the world's biggest sweet shop.
