@von Sachsen.. am I understanding that you are going to do the whole job or just the USA?
@vincesportsman2.... I see you also want to do the units.. but all of them?
Can you guys decide among yourselves, as to what you want to do?
One could do the motorised units (tanks, bmps.. anything that moves) and the other could do anything that walks usually (paras, marines, speciality etc)
The main thing is to have a reasonable starting point, a steady progression through the different units, to the last, top unit, which should still not be superman!
Remember, technology changes, but humans still have the same frailties as they did in 1750. ...
but GREAT if this job can be done, once and for all..
Please let me know, thanks
EDITING with more details:
THE JOB IS THIS:
In the db/units folder, there are 2 other folders, brigades and divisions.
Select divisions/infantry...
# 1965 Cold War Mechanized Division... is number 1
# 2015 Mechanized Division - 5.. is the last one on the list
In-between there are a number of other progressions through the years.
.. the stats should also improve with each model, but still be believeable and acceptable.
.. So you start with the first unit, progressively upgrade the stats to the last unit.. get rid of any ZERO's.
Finish that unit, and then proceed to the next.
BUT KEEP A BALANCE overall and throughout all the various units so that they are a cohesive body.
.. Most of this should be already done?
but that is the job AND A VERY IMPORTANT JOB ..
EDIT 2: A smart way to do it from scratch, would be to do it all in Excel or OpenOffice spreadsheet.
That way you can easily progress through the stats, and have them all visible at the one time.
.. AND . change the name for the next unit, and just adjust the stats as required.
Would take a day to do the lot, but you'd probably be FAMOUS afterwards...
