There's a bookmark in one of the screenshots that has something to do with the foundation of the Roman empire. Will we ever see an emperor, even an ahistorical one? Will Octavius be in the game, if only for a few days?

I would hope that if one family/person stays in power long enough/has enough popularity/loyal legions that they can declare themselves Emperor or what have you (dictator, w/e)

Wow - this game looks like the Rome game I've been waiting for. As much fun as RTW was (once properly modded), I always felt it was lacking the grand strategy view of things. Can't wait for this!

I definitely agree with you. RTW (modded to either Europa Barbarorum or Roma Surrectum-ignore the shoddy latin-) will always have a place on my PC. But there are parts I still find lacking and a Rome game from Paradox is a dream come true.
