"offer to join war" in war score screen

Do the arrows in the war score screen if you are a participant having any use? I do not remember having seen them not greyed out any time in the game and i only get to see that screen when you are already a participant....
Am i missing something?

I THINK you can see the warscore screen for crusades/jihads when you aren't a part of them, by clicking the banner in the top left. I guess it could be used for that, but even then, you could only join your own religions side, so no point in there ever being 2 buttons?

not sure really, perhaps a remnant of an earlier version, and has simply never been removed.

Someone posted recently about a bug causing a crusade to be called against another Catholic ruler and it then allowed Catholics to join either side. I guess if mods used the crusade mechanics for wars that aren't necessarily between religions it could be used.

But yeah, I suppose when it was added those screens were meant to be visible to people not already participating in the war.
