So somehow I was able to take some territory (within coring range) which I wasn't able to reach with troops because of terra incognita. This wouldn't be a problem but for the fact that separatist rebels have spawned there which I cannot defeat.

I have tried stealing maps from the region, but it didn't uncover the necessary terra incognita for me to be able to move there. Bearing in mind that it is 1790 (I kind of assumed that I'd be able to see this stuff by now considering how close it is to me and how I'm able to see the rest of the world) I'm not really sure what I can do.

The only option, it occurs, would be to delete an idea group and take exploration to uncover it, but I'm not willing to sacrifice thousands of points for a single provice.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Here is a screenshot. The province in question is Hawaii

Once the rebels have actually spawned there isn’t much to do if you can’t get maps. One way would be to steal maps, another would be to declare war on someone that could reach it and free ie occupy it for you.

...or just accept the rebel demands?
Rebel demands will release all the cores of the coloniser he took Hawaii off (I think). Having the timer tick down on that province will only release it, though, and anywhere else the rebels teleport to OP should be able to kill them.
Basically, the answer is steal more maps. The Europeans should all have visibility of everything by now. I think the region you need is North-West Pacific.
