First I would like to say that I've been playing HoI 2 and its derivations for quite a while.
Tonight I've come up with something that I had never seen before and I don't know what make of it.
I've got entire Army Corps being eliminated at once, while retreating from a controlled province to a controlled province. What should be a controlled retreat, not under enemy influence (ie. no gray arrows), to a province I control further behind the lines is quickly becoming a total disaster.
It goes like this: Province A is shaping into a pocket, so I decide to move units in province A to province B, adjacent to it and fully controlled by me and occupied by my troops. I click, here comes the green arrow, they start moving but before the movement completes they simply vanish with the according DISASTER message. Province B remains under my control (and occupied) the whole time, there are no enemy CAS harassing my units and they vanish with STR and ORG almost at their maximum. Happened in different provinces so far, so Im sure its not a land connection thing.
What gives?
Can't I retreat? Defense must be static or I risk losing my armies for no reason? Could you please help?
