Ok, I'm playing the Soviet Union in a game of CORE, and it's 1943, and the Germans invaded France around when they did historically, quickly pushed through northern France, and then, since then, they have fought a WWI style war along pretty much the same front lines.

Has anyone else had this?

sounds cool. The game must be much funnier when not the same things happen all the time
It would be, except that I was waiting with like 100 divisions on the German border for them to attack me. And, since they haven't finished France, they haven't attacked me.

And, I checked, the Germans have pretty large numerical superiority, and there are no forts. Whenever they attack, they don't send enough troops to win.

In CORE, if Poland takes control of Monrovia/Liberia (through an event), the extra VP makes it impossible for Germany to annex Poland.
Germany wont do much on the western front until after they have annexed Poland.
Atleast thats what I have seen in my games.

So, that explains what the colonization thing that I always see is.

But, that didn't happen in this game.

Germany probably ran out of resources. It happens sometimes, especially if the war in Poland drags out, and they cant get their hands on the stockpiles in Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg.
I've seen it a number of times, and it just appears that Germany wont attack, when in reality they arent able to, due to the lack of supplies produced.
Maybe thats it :)

Having cheated and looked at the German situation, I discovered that they had almost no resources and no oil. So, yeah, that's what happened.

In my current game the allies declared war on Germany in early 1942 and the Soviets 8 months later. So Germany is fighting a purely defensive war with Italy and a few minor contries as allies. What's funny is that Czeckoslovakia(sp) is nuetral which looks weird on the diplomatic screen. War rages all around it. I loaded the savegame as germany and found that they were not ready for war by any means(Nat China was more advanced). But some how they have held their lines and it's now Sep 1943.
