The map looks like a giant version of Settlers of Catan, the board game, since, as somebody mentioned, everything is hexagonal

Other comment, a bit offtopic, it would be cool if/when a nation conqours a province or some other part of the map where there are two sets of names, the name of the province would change to the name the occupier uses, examples are danzig-gdansk or Kønigsberg-Kaliningrad, there are many more examples but these are just of the top of my head

but this would surely be lot of work, especially with 10000 provices...

Remember, people, that this is the EUIII engine, which most likely means that the map is constructed out of easily editable .bmp files. So if, and that's a big if, there still are wildly inaccurate borders after launch, expect someone to have uploaded a corrected map when you get home from the store.

I would love to see some very thin borders even at maximum zoom level though. I guess I'm just used to maps having them.

I had hoped for a bit different economic system in this iteration, but it looks like we get the same again. No icon for TC yet, but then again there is a box in the top bar that is still missing icons.

I wonder what the round button with the German cross on it below the Menu and next to the Politics button is.

Berlin is a one province I guess there wont be east and west berlin.

I hope it's just because alpha version, I think it would be great having more provinces which represent one town, may be dividing one Berlin region into 2 or more is the solution...

I am sorry, but Paradox staff has stated for several times that the division will be the smallest unit in the game.
