I wonder will it work the same way as Vicky1 (for the uninitiated a province took a certain amount of time to come under your control dependeing on how large the army there was).

I think retaining this system would be fine, it worked quite well, but does anyone have any alternate ideas? Modifiers that could be used, etc?

Since there isn't a too large increase in the number of provinces this is probably still the best system.

As we all know large armies made occupying faster in V1 (making it in later decades of play almost instantaneous, à la HOI2). Other modifiers I'd like to see (they might be in V1 already) are:
-Terrain (mountains make this stuff much slower)
-Infrastructure (railroads, etc should make it much faster)
-Fortifications (the occupation process implies that there might still be small groups of defenders still fighting the attackers off, fortifications would help them and as such the higher the level of those, the slower it should go)
-Unit speed (on horseback, occupying a province goes faster than on foot)
-Technology (capturing a province goes faster in a 1920s armoured car than a 1910s armoured car)

Current system was pretty much ok, however I think we should be able to get some profit from occupied province (for instance, RGO production).
