For the HoI veterans. Just a couple exciting things I noticed skimming through it:

1. Leadership losses - Looks like leaders will become casualties in combat
2. Air Reserve - Filling losses at other units at the base (?!)
3. Scrambling - Fighters on defensive stance will scramble to intercept when enemy units enter their base province
4. Naval Intercept - Same as Air Scrambling
5. Naval Reserve - Same as air reserve
6. Convoy Warfare - Ability for a naval stack to patrol a specific convoy route for enemy raiders. This is SERIOUSLY cool.

Anyone spot anything else interesting?

Hmm, noticed in the manual it says you cannot license Capital Ships.

Mucho dissapointed, I was looking forward to being able to build a small, but advanced navy as a minor power through licensing ships. Not a deal breaker, but a small niggle, probably moddable anyway.

Rockets can be used multiple times!

I'm not sure, but it sounds like rocket test platforms and nuclear reactors can be placed on multiple provinces, just like AA. Not limited to 10 overall to one province.

I think...

"These Platforms can be built up to 10 levels," (doesn't say if I can build as much as I'd like but doesn't say it's limited to one province)

"These Reactors can be built up to 10 levels," "You can
build as many Reactors as you wish."

Does this mean that we can play as Ethiopia and continue playing even NU collapses?

HOI3 Manual said:
If an Alliance Leader makes peace with the country controlling the home country, the GIE may move to another Alliance
which is at war with the controlling country.

UK make peace, all Allied GIEs go to USSR :confused:

I thought there was discussion of a naval "shadow" order where you could send light units out to scout for enemy fleets, and if they your light cruiser spotted 4 battleships it wouldn't engage but rather would keep contact out of range so you could send your big fleet out to where the bad guys are. Was this not implemented, or will a lone DD or CL try to entirely stay out of range of enemy--sounds like no, all ships but carriers & transports try and close ASAP ...

"Radar - Detection & Signals Intercept"

So fighters now attack enemy planes even if they are not attacking the province they are sitting in but intercept according to radar aswell?

"During wartime, you have the ability to begin going into Debt, a Decision you can choose to make or not, and begin buying things on the world market with War Credit. This is a two-part decision as it is a Diplomatic exchange and not a Policy Decision. Both countries must agree in order to bargain with Credit."

Cool-if one can buy a license with war credit I think the whole "how do we model lend-lease?" issue has been solved.

EDIT: "Allow Debt – You agree to allow a country to purchase Resources with Money they don’t have (i.e. you’re loaning them the Money to make the purchase)." So no license for credit I guess--sounds like something to mod (hopefully!).
