A couple things bother me about the www. One is the lack of any specific changes to the players "war machine" appear to have zero affect to the outcome of battles or the game in general.

By this I mean upgrading divisions, changing divisions make up, modify stats for equipment, etc. The little nuances to the game are not being used, at least from my observation, and it doesn’t appear to have any effect on the human players. Nothing else in the games seems to make a difference besides overwhelming ground superiority. No other features of the game are being used in the stream.

Now I understand its human vs human, but the AI was run. Yes I know this is a dev build, the stats have not been finalized.

Another issue is not seeing the game feature that been told to us for the past couple years. The narration of the videos is OVERWHELMINGLY showing the Germans click fest side. I need to be honest I am a little biased, I want to see the German side of the match. But I don’t like watching Daniel play. What I see is constant "select all units and right click on map to attack”. I barely see the Daniel use ANY type of air force on anything besides defending Germany. The little I see when his air force window is open, it appears that his entire air force is ALWAYS full strength. Is it event being used? Don’t get me started on the Naval aspect……..

The battle at the Suez Canal was the most thought out battle between the two players during the entire series. It would have been GREAT to have both players focus on that battle for a change. You can tell that Johan spent time setting this up, at least by the little shown by our narrator. On that note, I think it would be fair to see Johan more, at least he takes time with the game, and seems to show the little nuances of the game we all enjoy.

IMHO, I think we should see all facets of the game being used. Not just a click, highlight, etc. fest. We want to see the features in use. I could care LESS who wins.

Show us what you have been working your ass off for 2+ years to develop in its glory!

No not a dev video diary, just play the game while using all the features. Not just play to win.

Some of your issues are inevitable effect of playing MP game without any pause - single player WWW would solve this to some extend, but in that case WWW progress in time would be much slower.

I expect these changes are making a difference, but it's hard to pick out because the pace everything moves at - we're not going through battle screens slowly, and rarely get to see much detail for more than a fleeting second or two of a division layout, but that's because it's an MP game. As others have said, maybe if the next WWW is a single-player affair, where the player can pause and play the game in detail, we'll get a better feel for these things?

Even in MP it would work but I´m afraid its a battle of the egos and showing off the game is not their priority^^ ( not meant too seriously, but you know... )

I noticed Johan doesn't have the experiences (Land / Air / Naval) maxed out in WWW8, so I guess he used some to modify his equipment. At least he researched medium tank destroyers.

What we need to see is a single player WWW where they can take their time and show off stuff. MP will NEVER be good for this if they are actually playing to win the match. Single player would allow them to pause and show off features as needed then speed up to keep things progressing.

We'll get a good look in SP when they give out prerelease copies to Arumba and stuff. But that won't happen until like a week or two before launch, probably. I just wish they would play for a bit longer each week in WWW, or possibly give us two Youtube Videos after the stream is over to see Johan and Daniel exclusively. I feel like I miss a lot when it's just one person trying to capture the highlights of both players, lol.

Maybe once everything with the AI and all the major bugs get taken care of we can get a single player game with Daniel playing Japan or US. He does a good job explaining the game and could give us some good insight. I think the only reason we don't see a single player now is because the AI isn't quite ready for it or they are afraid it will goof up.

While i enjoy the videos Arumba etc make for their games they never give anywhere near as good a perspective as the developers can. I agree the AI might not be up to snuff yet i still think it would be better for them to do a SP video next for the reasons mentioned earlier. Even if the stomp the AI it has the potential to give us a really good look at mechanics.

I must say that even though I enjoy the WWW's I would like to see a SP game that takes it a bit slower with better explaination of actions. A playthrough where the player keeps tooltips on screen a bit longer so I don't have to watch a second time with pauses every now and then to try and read some stuff.

Preferably a Japan game where naval warfare will shine :)

I really don't know. You lose your production efficiency switching to the new type of vehicle, but there have been quite a few times where either his production efficiency was gone anyway due to them doing work on the game, or he was switching to a new tech level anyway.

That might be the best way to use experience points, actually - wait until you're going to go from medium tank 1 to medium tank 2, and immediately make a variant of medium tank 2 with all your experience points thrown into it. Then switch directly from medium tank 1 to the variant. All the advantages, none of the disadvantages.

In all fairness, I think he is playing the game from a QA aspect. Not showcasing the game. Unfortunately showcasing the game is what I think everyone wants to see!!!!!!

I would say, playing a game is ultimately about having fun, winning is part of having fun but second. I think they are doing quite a pleasant job showcasing the game, we can see how the technology researched in the German tier has aided in the battle for the USSR for example, and the battles following that tend to be lopsided. Generally there are a few more divisions, and technology being way in favor. Johan researching naval technology, dominating the seas, and using it to his advantage as of recently. They answer questions, playing and having fun, laughing, what more could we ask? perhaps there are minor things we all would like to see more of, but as you see they do inform us more and more and read the forums. Altogether enjoyable to watch. I am at work during the live broadcast so I miss it but enjoy watching later on.

They do explain division make up, the different makeups that include medical supplies, recon, ect ect, and they explain the importance of them. For example, Johan has something researched ( cant recall off the top of my head, perhaps signal company's) that allow his Suez defenders to rotate easily. Quite useful. A lot of the information is there.

I am a little confused watching the Devs play how movement can be done. Personally I do not like to lose control over my divisions and let a planned AI path take it to where it wants to be, at least all the time. The Dev~Germany slowed down and showed individual flanking in Russia I believe in episode 4 or 5.

In other such titles I like the control precisely where my units go, how they're built, like you all. I like the detail. What's in the soup... But I am sure they will add all that cause that's the fun stuff. For those who like Macro I'm sure they'll automate that stuff. That's cool too and when you want to play fast MP you cannot sit on Micro all day long or a game never finishes. I have only sat in 1 HOI MP game and it was so snail slow. It wasn't as bad as MP Victoria but it was slowwwwww cause it's detailed. After players learn how to play well like the Devs have they can streamline the experience.

Which makes me feel that this title is ideal for MP. I would REALLY love a 1933 or earlier scenario, as Ahistorical as that sounds. That way you can tweak a nation!

P.S. I wonder if my GFX 7700 Radeon and i5 can handle this title also o.o or if it will sputter around. Yet to be scene I suppose.
