Step 1: Send your chad heir with your only legion to be a mercenary in the hopes his stats become even higher
Step 2: Hire him, giving you control over your only legion back, together with some merc stack in germania (disbanding the merc stack in germania disbands the legion as well)

Step 3: Wait some time, disband mercs after some wars
Step 4: Your son returns, with the armchair general debuff (-0.25 monthly popularity, -0.5 monthly family prestige) until the end of game and the incapable trait.
Step 5: Decide to send him adventuring again in the hopes your king dies before he returns and the other son becomes king
Step 6: Notice you can't assign him to a legion again, "Grant citizenship" is active, click it
Step 7: Unable to send adventuring, because the primary heir is not considered part of the ruling family

EDIT1: Apparently I have the option to adopt him...

EDIT2:
Step 8: Adopt your own son and send him adventuring again
Step 9: He gets immediately hired by..... drum roll ..... Kamarupa. 2021_03_16_8.png2021_03_16_9.png

Care to explain? I do not get it
Of course :)

You see the nation of Lemovicien in the east? These territory is a result of the AI migrating - I'm playing Mandubien in this game and you see that small "hole" of three territories (SW edge) in my lands (two unoccupied and one being Lemovician, too). Orginally Lemovicia was much bigger and located in that region, but I got at war with them when expanding (goal in that game is to unite Gaul and clash with Rome :) ), because they allied with the enemy. Shortly before I could end that war and annex anyone, Lemovicien fell into civil war and those three territories where excluded from the peace deal. The name from Lemovician revolt went back to Lemovicien and I planned to conquer them later, but my attention get cought long enough elsewhere...so the AI probably felt the looming danger and just packed their tents and fled to the east. Aside from that the human player would probably consequently give up the last original territory as well, I think that move is pretty cool and shows that the AI at least sometimes use the migration tool efficiently.

Yup, the AI absolutely does that. In fact, if the AI of a migratory tribe gets into "flight mode" they will go out of their way to avoid having a border with the country they perceive as threatening.

A thing that you'll regularly see on WC attempts is multiple AIs fleeing to the large uncolonised area in modern day Ukraine. If you then colonise territories near them they will uproot any territory directly bordering you and migrate away to somewhere safer. It's a really cool little facet of AI behaviour (even if it can result in a few wasted claims if you don't realise what's going on.

I just wish the AI would also do the opposite and use migration aggressively to attack wealthy countries that are in a weak position (no manpower, multiple wars and losing etc.).

I would like to see tribes flight mode activated by lack of food and attacking provinces with big surplus of food to settle there after invading.

But this will clash with the fleeing the threatnening nation behaviour.

MahishanishRevolt.jpg

(Explanation: Mahisha had a civil war, in which I got involved sided with the rebels and finally subjected the loyalist side. Then later the free rebel side - which kepts its name - fell into another civil war I somehow get involved again by entering a civil war in Andra. Don't ask me on which side I technically fought, but I consider myself victorious as that 2nd war is over and I can focus now on my own...)
