The Numistic Order caravaneers appeared into my territory 40 years into the game, and they presented me their offer: I receive two merchant pops in my capital in exchange for 3.5k credits. That's a lot of money in the early game, so I was hesitant at first, but I was a filthy rich megacorp after all, and I desperately needed new pops to remain competitive. So I accepted the deal and the new pops appeared on my capital planet. However, it turns out that the pops have no suitable biome whatsoever to live in: they have 0% habitability everywhere. The two pops I got are both declining rapidly, and soon the merchants are going extinct. The pops did come with one extra gene editing point, but I haven't unlocked the technology for assigning gene points.

I was wondering if this kind of behavior was intentional? That there's a chance the caravaneers just rip you off and dump aliens on you that will die on your planets? Or am I missing something?
