Number of provinces

I couldn't find it in a search or in the map DD though it must have been answered, how many provinces are there? More or less than Hoi3? In particular I'm interested in what the province map of South America looks like.

I'd like to see screens of the provinces for every continent/region, it might already exist but...

I believe they said that the amount would be similar to HOI3, maybe slightly less. Big difference is obviously that they are nameless (the small ones)

There are about the same as there was in Hearts of Iron 3 (about 10,000) with some added in some places and some removed in other places.
