Hey, so I've been having a number of issues in my current game after becoming a satellite of the Watchful Regulators. I'll give the run-down of what's going on.
1. My overlord is declaring wars to liberate planets from other empires. This is fine, except for some reason, I am the one getting the guarantee even though I am not in the war itself. I guess my overlord can get stuff in wars on my behalf. I can also declare my own liberation wars, which gets me a guarantee naturally. Which leads to what I think is the core of the problem...
2. I cannot revoke these guarantees, because I am not independent. So, this has been gradually bleeding my influence away. As a result...
3. My overlord can declare war on my guaranteed nations that I can do nothing about. This is where my problem has progressed to... I am now at war with my own overlord, but am still their subject nation. Funny enough, if my overlord wins, I will simultaneously gain and lose planets from this war.
This would be less of an issue if they weren't six times my strength... but as it stands, I think this playthrough is almost a write-off anyway unless something major happens to them.
