i'm personally waiting for expansion
but honestly, there should be some expansion for countries infrastructure, as people mention here on fora a few times

i mean there is a huge potential to make lurking for economy effectivness or mp or trade effectivness quite a fun in peace time
but now with prety handfull of different kinds of buildings and their levels, building them ingame is a very dull job
you just queue a bunch of them a few times in a whole company and thats it

it's not just buildings but some interconnections of them and other stuff(some of it came to mind):

population related buildings outcomes(should be definite population)
some unique provincial tweaks(there are already a few, but need more)
border thing(some trade tariff things, forts also)
being near some trade partners or tech leaders(as boosting effect)
level of some buildings preq for troops(i mean hiring those tons of heavy artillery in some Okhotsk where was a 2.5 men of population until 20th century??)
events linked (why so many generic events for CK2 and so few for EU4)
more related buildings for types of goods! (not just manufactories)
and of course some monarch points from developed infrastructure

i mean i'v had more fun construct buildings in total war:wacko:

There are people declaring they are bored with the game, despite addmitting they have played for 250+ hours (Im among them) since September, thats 4 hours every day on average.
I am not saying I didn't get my money's worth. I am saying that I probably won't play as much as I did, because of reasons mentioned before. I like when games are dynamic: it might be randomly generated map and items, it might be changing enviroment and element of chance, etc. Currently all that's dynamic in EU4 are battles (right now in a negative way) and interaction between countries. The main issue is that said interactions and battles aren't dynamizing the core of the game itself: they stay always the same so their overall effect is diminishing somewhat. It gets better when you aren't winning and have to fight just to survive (like mine Fortress Netherlands versus France), but ultimately you either overcome your enemies (meaning you'll make rest of the game too easy) or fail. I am not failing that often, and when I do it's often not funny because enemy is just plain too strong (let's say Teutonic Order outside Holy Roman Empire versus Lithuania and/or Poland) so there is little to be done.

Some people are liking the planning aspect, others just want constant war. War I might add that results in them gaining a huge chunk of land - they dont like they current system as it undoubtedly slows this down to in their eyes a crawl.
It's working almost the same way in CK2 (save for very good marriage policy) and isn't really the problem there. It's a problem in EU4 because E4 boils down to land grabbing. It shapes your military, your navy, your income... everything. There are little ways to grow outside of war and even these aren't as dynamic as I'd wish for them to be. It's fun to colonize or conquer for a few times, but after certain amount of time that becomes repetitive and generic. Monarch of Sweden is the same as the ruler of England, except for a few points. In CK2 each monarch is unique, has his own enemies and allies, their world is alive and constantly changing. You have to adapt. In EU4 it's almost exclusively about being the biggest power in the region.

I don't think EU4 has the same replay value, and you don't have as many options as in CK2.
Not as bad as Vicky 2. I find it boring because it's so restricted.

The good thing of a paradox game is that you can play it for weeks, then you can not touch it for two months, and start to play again for another month.
Is a long term investement.

I guess I'm one of those odd people that loves EU4 and has trouble going back to CK2. I'm really just a warmonger and I find the warfare in EU4 much more strategic and interesting. And also I don't see how you can really get bored when every country you play is a unique kind of experience.

What's the unique experience?

Step 1. Are you the strongest nation in the area?

A. No - ally with strongest neighbour, attack smaller ones, become strongest

B. Yes - ally with other nations, attack nearby threats, expand.

Generals, admirals, leaders, same everywhere you go. Just different numbers, no personality, no generalwho gives 25% bonus to cav attack or anything fun like that.

Trade, same everywhere you go, build light ships or give up
