Number of countries in IGC and EU2?

I never got around to playing the IGC and now that EU2 is out I probably won't bother but I was curious about how much better EU2 is with respect to the number of countries countries.

How many countries are playable in IGC? (I believe it's about 160 in EU2)

Which are the major countries playable in EU2 but not in IGC? Are the non-European countries as fun in IGC as EU2?

All existing countries are playable in IGC. It's got a cute little setup app that lets you designate who the "major countries" are (and several other options) before you actually start up Europa. Then when you start the IGC scenario, it does so with those options in place.

Just like in the regular scenarios, in IGC the "majors" are available for choice by players, and cannot be completely conquered. Otherwise, they're just like all the other countries.

I can't provide any comparisons to EU2 as I haven't seen EU2.
