Number of AI empires in 1.5

The default in the menu for a medium sized galaxy was nine, which seems very low. And when I change it, the menu now remembers my choice, so I can't reset it to any sort of default options. Does anyone remember what the default value of this was in 1.4? Wasn't it like 17 or something? Is there some reason it should be lower now?

You can revert back to 1.4 by going into properties and beta tab to roll back to 1.4 to check.

The default for medium I believe was 13 normal, 3 advanced, and max 2 fallen. It was too cluttered, where only 2-3 empires had any chance of expanding to be a powerhouse. Less empires on medium is better.

17 AI with 4 advanced starts for medium (600 stars) galaxy was default according to the wiki (settings page).
