I was just going over things in my head and was wondering if late model units and techs going to have to give large number bonuses? Before in HOI2 the first units we had had stats like 1 attack and defense say...but that was pre-WWII units and we had only 5-6 models...now we will have double that. but lets say each modedl just multiplies a number by 2. Say we have 16 models. so that figures to be 2 to the 15 power. Then if you consider modifiers and doctrines could double that to 2 to the 16 power or 65k. So I can see having a planned unit list and tech plan for the entire period but for each scenario just use what is needed of it and set the lowest ranked unit to 1 so we don't need numbers upto 65k...
I love the idea of a larger tech tree. But I want to see a larger tech tree for each scenario in which it is all used. If not...why not add 40% to the tech times. Then having more tech teams would be about the same as it it now. The larger the tech means that we could increase the number of tech teams used. I really think we should keep the number of tech teams at the current levels when a country is at peace. But when at war it should goto 2 - 8 tech teamsable to be used. Maybe like +1 if at war, and an extra at 200 and 300 base production but only at war. But that is my 2 cents worth.
War is really the mother of invention...but this game seems to dismiss this fact. Maybe research should be linked to total production instead of based production. This would work better in my eye because it would make USA slowly increase its research ability and as it increases it output to help the rest of the world it will slowly bring up its research ability.
