What is the effect of nukes now? I remember they were suppose to change (to be weaker then in HoI 2) - are they?

I'd play DD scenario to find out - but how to get rid of this endless expeditionairies??

They are weaker than before but still very powerfull...

Expeditionary troops is a bug and should be sorted once the new patch comes out... I hope...

How much powerful? Do they take some percentage of currently stationing troops? Or do they take exact numbers of divisions?

Could you provide some examples?? :D

I too hope they'll fix expeditionaries  For me, with all the bugs, the game is hardly playable :(

Yes, expeditionaries are a huge problem for me too.

Every time I load my game, I get 98 messages saying I returned them, and then a minute later 98 messages saying they lent them to me, and now I have to move them aaaaaall the way to the border AGAIN *sigh*.

Plus when I load a game, a lot of trade deals seem to cancel after about 1-2 mins of play, the countries just brake them, I think that may be a bug too.

In any case, in my experience, nukes wipe out all buildings and infrastructure in that province, and this has to be totally rebuilt, all the resources are gone, and they have to be rebuilt - like the mining sites, etc.

It also wipes out the large majority of manpower, permanently.

As for divisions in the province, I'm not really sure.

I've nuked london and paris just because I felt like it, and these are the effects I got, if I remember.

A lot of devestating, are the ICBMs.

If I launch about 30 ICBMs at the UK island, I can take off about 2/5 of their IC. Would be better if ICBMs were more precise =/

Nuke's report

 The new DD nuke effect is really useless... Playing the US, instead of making test in the New Mexico desert, I tested my first nuke by bombing (with STR) a small japanese island, containing a stack of about 20+ INF...

I strew the bomb, had a cute sprite over the island, but nothing appened to the troop stationing there... No effect neither on ORG no STRENGH ! The only effect my bomb did was to destroy the flak (but not definitly). I could have the same with a conventionnal strategic mission, without wasting time to research, without wasting too much IC used to build the nuke facilities...

And at least, i takes me more than one year to gezt a new bomb (with a level 7 nuclear facility).

So my question about the "NNR" New Nukes Rules are :
- Why using nukes which are this point useless ?
- Are nukes more efficient when used with ICBM ?
- How to change the building time of bombs (more facilities ? bigger ?)
- Any chance all this to be corrected with the next patch ?

Thank you

I don't know what you're talking about with the nuke effects on troops. I dropped mine on Portsmouth on a 60+ stack of US troops waiting for D-Day right before sea lion, When I attacked them on land thier strength and org had already been wasted. Maybe it's affected by troop concentration? Who knows. The question is what type of nuke you used. If you're using the Nuclear Waste Bomb, don't expect it to do much. But once you get up through Semi-Fission and Fission, then it's much more effective. The bomb damage increases with higher techs. I've never bothered to go far enough to the Hydrogen Bomb yet but after my experiance with the bombs its' gotta be worth it. Nukes also increase the dissent of the country which can really decrease thier overall combat efficiency and national IC production. That in turn affects thier TC. A concentrated strike can really mess them up. It's all in how you use them.

Edit: That said I really wish that there was a faster way to build nukes. I mean sure it should take a HUGE amount of IC investment, but it should be possible. There's no reason I shouldn't be able to build another reactor up to level 9 if I wanted to and start pumping out a true nuclear arsenal. Right now, even with a level 9, I can't see myself having more than a dozen bombs by the end of the game, but I might be wrong.
