Nubia and Ethiopia

The Funj were pagan nomadic cattle-herders who overran the Islamic state of Nubia in the early 16th century, but then converted to Islam themselves.

Nubia and the Funj were Nile river states, and were not located along the Red Sea.

Ethiopia was also much smaller than represented in the game. Most of that territory belonged to Oromo and Awsa.

well I think the Nubian provinces in the game touch the red sea just to fill up all of the coastal region, although Paradox coud have made uninhabited, coastal provices to remedy this

I've always wondered too, is there any reason Nubia is Orthodox? All the references I've seen make them Sunni Moslem.
