The two people-foundators.
Totally!
But people was not consult. Yeah, the 1867 general election was a kind of referendum, but do you think peasant and habitant in rural Quebec (at this time 60-70% od the population) was concern by change of constitution. There preoccupation was surviving. At this time emigration to US was growing.
Don't worry, it is not an argument in favor of independance

I am nationalist but not fool. Realism! realism! The problem is not Canada nor Canadians, it is Ottawa and especially centralization policies, especially now by J.C. Government
But there is a sick paradox in Quebec nationalism : They say they are a rightful nation and people, but are very damn afraid to assess it in the ethnical way, which is unavoidable when talking about nations, since you must tell why you are different of others.

Totally agree
1) It's little game by certain anglo and even franco extremist. Before, they said: Economically, Quebecers cannot be tough for affairs($), blablabla. Since Quebecers showed the opposite, the little game is to say that Quebecers are racists, blablabla (the problem is those who say that are racist because they are discriminating!)
2) A strange reaction is produced: a repetitive speach saying: no no no our nation is civic, no ethnical..blablabla.
They are partially wrong. Quebec identity is based on ethnical factors but civic too!
The point is Quebec is a nation (sociological, cultural) but it doesn't mean the separation is absolutely necessary. Canada is a multi-nations country (Indians, Québec, Acadia, English Canada).
