In 1484 I finished long war against POL and LIT – I took two provinces from POL (one of it was Tula) and one province (Twer) from LIT + I vassalized LIT. After this war I got option to become Russian empire. As Russia I got some good events – 30k troops and claim for almost all Russian provinces. I think after that NOV (as Russia) easy could win this game but I resign from this game because Russia attacks George (unfortunately in real life).

Oh, in vanilla the event (to become Rus) doesnt trigger until -1520- (edit - not 1540)...

And sure it gets easier, but its good to remember the earlier bitter struggles, helps me anyway...to keep playing.

and you resigned because of what? is there an event which makes you at war with Georgia?

How strange is history – in XIV century Lithuania could destroy Moscow but they took two times some ransom after sieges of this city. If I was at this time advisor I suggested destroy Moscow at any price. In this case history for Lithuania and other countries could be better...

Its easy in hindsight to make such decisions ;)

As for my game, plan on seeing this all the way through at this point, its just been a very refreshing game, been stuck playing England/Ottomans for way too long.

I resigned because of Russia attacked Georgia some days ago (not in game but in real life). After that I’m disgusted with Russia so I dropped this game.

I played abit yesterday as Russia in my MP-game with a friend and released Georgia and defended it from the persians, gujarat and Ak-Koyounlu. Later on my friend informed me of the war between Georgia and Russia.

At the time I had no idea but afterwards I was quite pleased with what I had done, though they could thank me by not destroying my monopoly in Astrakhan.

Imperialistic bastards using silly excuses to get more oil.

But as usually, the decadent western "democracies" wont do a crap about it. "Diplomatic Pressure", ah sure.

the art of war...always get your enemy to make the first move ;) gerogia is driven by an american imposed and educated president ;) do the math. this will be a proxy war incited by "you know who" to "test " the other side with the objective to see if it "safe" to invade iran( and make a bigger mistake then iraq)
remind you that iran/china/russia have a DEFENSIVE pact as of 2 years ago... not much at all discussed in the mainstream media but upon detailed research one can see between whom the struggle REALLY is.
i would not mind to see SUV's as beeing too expensive to upkeep due to gas prices. they should have not been produced in the first place :D

OK, come back to this topic.
After the event “Russian claims in the East” in 1487 Russia got cores in Kazan. I didn’t attack Kazan because I waited for good ministers (for conversion) and for Tatar culture.
In 1550 Russia will get “Naskapi” culture but I doubt it is the same culture as Tatar because even the last Russian minor Ryazan has Russian and Tatar cultures from the start.
Suddenly in 1495 I saw that Russian cores disappeared! I played in AGCEEP157 Deluxeb10. Maybe somebody know what was happened?

Oh, vanilla (Novgorod) only gets Altai and Greek on top of Ugric and Russian, I let some Orthodox minors capture none culture (non Orthodox) provinces in the hope that they will convert it :)

In my game, by some freak of nature, Duchy of Athens ended up with the province east of Volgograd and north of Astrakhan. Can't remember the name of it but the point is that the province got converted in less than half a year. Athens apparently got the conversion of heretics event and it had to be in a province that was supposed to be mine. They had like 7 other provinces that could be converted and was greek/turkish too.

Blitz-crusade with conversion in less than a half a year...

Other than the province of Kazan itself, you don't really need tatar culture in AGCEEP, as most of the tatar provinces will turn russian after you convert them to orthodox. Kazan stays tatar regardless of religion...

Regardless, it is still a good province to grab early, as controlling it gives you cores after a certain date. Also, you can use Russia's (once you form it) early conquistador to do some exploring in Siberia and start the long and grueling Siberian colonization process early.

Yes, possible only since 1.56 with Base version (and is hardcoded in Deluxe map). You understand why Deluxe map will be removed in future versions now.

No, vanilla map has the same feature as the Deluxe map now but through straits in AGCEEP CSV files. There is no need of the Deluxe map anymore and the corresponding 11 MB to download.

I'm not actually sure seeing as how we had a few connections like that in our adj-defs.csv file. We re-stumbled onto it when I wanted add a connection between Kyzylkum and Uzbek. Yoda realized that it made the Deluxe map obsolete.

When Russia (ex Novgorod) don’t have tarar culture, is very hard to convert tatars provinces, maybe only 25 or 30 percent chance with normal monarch’s adminastrive skills.

In 1550 Russia will get “Naskapi” culture – where are provinces with this culture? In Siberia?

True, but that's the advantage of starting as Muscowy: you can effectively utilize the steppes faster. However, Novgorod gets a lot more from conquering Finland and the Baltic nations than Muscovy ever does. (The best Muscovy can do is get Ingermanland converted to russian by the St. Petersburg event.) If you are fast enough and convert the baltic before the reformation, you can even avoid the provinces turning protestant, something that always bugged me as Muscovy/Russia when I took the baltic states after the End of Livonian Order event chain.

However, as Russia I always go narrowminded early on for the colonists (to get to Mongolia before they go Buddhist and annex them in one go), so you have both a good number of missionaries for conversion attempts, and the "Conversion of Heretics" and "Conversion by the Sword" events for conversions, its just a matter of where you go first.

Naskapi is mapped to tatar culture in AGCEEP. So all the former Golden Horde lands that can't be converted to russian. That event is usually a sign for me to go conquer Astrakhan and Crimea (especially the latter, as the Ottomans have a habit of diploannexing them, and you want that Black Sea coast.)

Yes, useless at least and it started with last submissions of 1.56:
-added links through PTI Kazan-Igrim (for Base version) and Kyzylkum-Uzbek #1085
