Maybe Byzanitum can make a peace with Ottomans. Or Byzantium can be a Ottoman vassal, so Byzantium can gain some time for rescue their empire.

No. Poland isn't Rome.
The Byzantines have somehow gotten a huge fan base from people and I am one of those people. We will do ANYTHING to bring them back to their glory.
I just did last night. As of late I had been playing HTTT but just as a battle-readiness exercise for Eu4, I installed Chronicles and decided to give the Empire a try on that date. I had previously done so in HTTT but never in DW.
It's a rougher ride than in 1399 for sure, but it's possible. By dawn, I finally managed to get to a point I felt safe that the Turks were no longer a significant threat, pushed back from Europe proper. I had to compromise with nobles and run pretty high inflation to do so, though, but nothing impossible to recover from.
It is Rome, its just a shadow of a shadow of a shadow of its former self.
