Whenever one of my courtiers is captured in combat and held ransom I get a choise to pay for his release. When I decide to pay then ransom it turns out that I pass the bill on to him. Is this wad?

Also the amount shown in the tooltip is far from correct. It said that I would have to pay 147 ducats. But he ended up paying more than 1500.

Dunno how it's supposed to go.

Looking at the ducat amounts perhaps the tooltip is calculated from his income and the actual amount from your as his liege?

The ransom is paid by the guy who gets captured (which is very useful if he's not your ruler or heir, as then the negative gold will not affect anything and will eventually die with him).

Also, the gold calculations in the tooltip are quite often completely wrong.

That's exactly what I have seen. Should it not be possible to fix the tooltips? After all it is nice to know what your choices are before making a decision.

With my courtier paying himself the only reason not to pay would be that I wanted to get rid of him. Should the liege not have to pay based on his importance in the court?

Pay half or all your gold for the king/duke/count. 25 % for an heir, 10 % for a courtier with a position, and 5 % for a regular courtier.

What do you guys think?
