I'm rather new to Stellaris, but I've noticed that the notifications in this game seem to have taken a major step backwards compared to other Paradox games. Specifically build notifications! Managing your planets is already tedious and it is made worse that you get a generic "Colony Alpha has finished building" notification instead of "Colony Alpha has finished building an Agricultural District"

It is so frustrating! Especially because the more specific notifications are well within their ability to provide.

Are there any mods for this?

There is a mod by AlphaAsh (of Alphamod fame) which removes a lot of the tedious AI notifications:

"The Bumfluff Empire has signed a commercial pact with the Loincloth Republic"

But you're right, the building notifications could be better - I too would like to know what they finished building! Surer, most of the time I can work it out or remember, but there are times were you plan on doing A, B then C, but by the time A is done, you've forgotten what B and C were and you can't remember what A was!

I agree with you, but why should I have to remember when games have been giving me proper notifications for decades! Plus I only have time to play sparingly, so remembering what I started building days ago can be a real pain.

I think notifications should be made a bit more precise as I experience this problem too. I am aware that it would take a lot of work seeing as there are quite a few advisor voices but it would be worth it.

I don't think the voice work needs doing, just some text in the notification to say "Planet Itchycrack has completed a Hydroponic Farm"

Same here - I have long sessions every few days, rather than playing every day. It would be nice to know what I was building from 3 days ago!

I really wonder why this thread does not get a LOT more attention, since it doesnt come to my mind why as a game designer you would prefer to let your player guess what happened right after a notification, rather than informing him? Once you run a lot of planets, build lots of ships, upgrade lots of bases and the like, the notifications feel incomplete and one just does not get it, why they dont read "planet xy has finished building a temple", rather than "planet xy has finished its production queue".

Developers need to re-evaluate what notifications should be shown to the player. At the very least it needs to be heavily adjustable by the player.
