When notification banners get cluttered, and you're tied up in a war or otherwise too busy for efficient micro-managing, things go wrong. Rebels you meant to suppress manage to spawn, that disaster that "won't spawn for a few more years" suddenly fires, or that looming bankruptcy looms quicker than anticipated... A simple solution I propose be implemented is the ability to customize banner notifications.

For example
  • The ability to modify when the banner appears for rebels or disasters. Personally, I would prefer 90% on both, but some players may prefer earlier. Giving the player more control over the way they receive alerts (be it a slider in the options menu or prompts when clicking on the banner) has the potential to greatly improve the user experience
  • Options to toggle pop-up alerts for certain banners. Take disasters as an example: the red alert banner stays noticeable for years, and takes away from the sense of urgency of a red banner, and often slips the mind of a player until it is too late. The option to add a pop-up at a given time (say, 95%) would prevent countless civil wars or clerical coups.
  • Option to change the urgency level/ color of various types of banners. Some players may value disputed succession more and want a more noticeable (yellow/red) banner. Some players may not care about loans as much and want a less prominent (green) banner.
Generally, just more customizability to the notification UI would be ideal.
