The reworking of the Spanish Civil War was deep and comprehensive, but it seems to me that the role of the International Brigades has not been revealed, and the opportunities and characters associated with them have not been fully reflected.
Therefore, I want to present my list of team members that should be represented in the game, as well as their possible roles and conditions for their appearance.

Shapour Bakhtiar - last prime minister of the Shah of Iran, was an opponent of the shah, and before taking this post he lived an interesting and dangerous life. All his life he remained a staunch supporter of democracy, and an uncompromising opponent of absolute power. As a student in France, he volunteered for Spain in order to prevent the accession of the dictator Franco. After he joined the French Foreign Legion, he was a member of the French Resistance and took part in battles with the Germans as an artelerist.
I think he can be an advisor in a democratic Iran, and France can be recruited as an agent. As an advisor, his perk will be called "Opponent of Totalitarianism" - -0.10% support for communism, - 0.10% support for fascism, +10 protection against ideology drift. As an agent, his traits are: Commando and Demolition Expert.

Norman Bethune - canadian surgeon, innovator and staunch anti-fascist. He participated in the Spanish Civil War, then, together with the Chinese Communists, he resisted the Japanese invasion, where he died. In modern China, he is a cult character and a national hero. He passed the First World War, gained fame in Canada as a fighter against tuberculosis. Not finding an understanding of his methods and views on health care at home, he went to Spain to treat Republican fighters. He created there the world's first mobile hospital and new methods of blood transfusion. Then he went to China to use his abilities to help the losing communists, where he died of blood poisoning.
In my interpretation, he can be an advisws and a
or in communist Canada, and a default advisor in communist China. Its perk will be called "Medical Inventor" - +5% Stability, +5% Production efficiency cap.

Willy Brandt (Gunnar Gaasland) - in fact Herbert Ernst Karl Frahm, 4th German Chancellor, leader of the German Social Democrats and a prominent journalist in the past. He is known for his pacifist views and a radical change in the foreign policy of the FRG. In the interwar years he was an activist of the SPD, and then of the more leftist Socialist Workers' Party. After the victory of the Nazis, he went underground, went to Norway, and later worked as a Scandinavian journalist, first in France and then in Spain. During the war years he lived in Sweden, after which he returned to Germany, where he continued his political career.
In the game, he can be represented as an advisor to democratic Germany, and also as a Norwegian and / or Swedish agent recruited under the name Gunnar Gaasland. As an advisor, he will be marked with the "Marxist Activist" perk - + 5% Political Power Political Power gain, -5% War support War Support. As an agent he will have the Infiltrator trait.

Carmelo Delgado Delgado - a young member of the Puerto Rican Nationalist Party who died in the siege of Madrid. After living for a short time, he was marked by an uncompromising struggle for the independence of Puerto Rico and hatred of the Yankees. He graduated from a local university, becoming the bearer of the idea of Puerto Rico's independence from the United States, went to study in Spain, where the civil war broke out. Determined to defend the Second Republic from tyranny, he died in battle.
I see him as an advisor to the independent Puerto Rico, with the "Puerto Rican Insurgent" perk - + 10% War support War Support, Daily autonomy progress gain: +0.4.

Ernest Hemingway - I will not paint the entire biography of this great writer, I will just note that I really liked that the developers added Orwell as an advisor, and in the future I would like to see more outstanding writers of the twentieth century in various roles in the game. And this person is the first in line to be added to the game.
I see him as an advisor for the US and Cuba, with two different perks reflecting two different roles in those countries. Perk for the USA - "the Bell" - + 15% Ideology drift defense, + 5% Stability Stability. Perk for Cuba (if it is at war on the same side with the USA) - "the Old Man" - +5% Same ideology monthly opinion, Agency upgrade time: -15 %, Operatives slots: +1.

It's all. All numbers are approximate, all perks and traits are fictional, coincidences are random.
