So you don't get that little popup saying "Import successful"? Maybe copy the content again, perhaps 1 line or character was missing.

  2. Import -> stellaris.xml
  3. Switch to it, or any newly opened txt file should be highlighted (Notepad++ may need restart)
Explanation on what I did:

I defined 8 groups of keywords:
  1. Command Scopes (aka Effect Scopes)
  2. Condition Scopes (aka Trigger Scopes)
  3. Multi Scopes (keywords for both Effect and Trigger Scopes)
  4. Special Thingies (things that don't fit anything else)
  5. Conditions
  6. Commands (aka Effects)
  7. Definition Tokens (aka Declarations)
  8. Modifiers (aka Buffs/Debuffs)
You can change the colors how you want or merge different things into the same colors.

I set it up, so that Command Scopes (Pink) and Condition Scopes (Purple) are differentiated and Multi Scopes (PurplePink) get the color in between the two, because they can be used as both.

Commands (orange) are more associated with Command Scopes (Pink) and Conditions (blue) with Conditions Scopes (Purple). So it should be easy to tell if you used the wrong keywords in the wrong context. Pink and Orange is ok. Purple and Blue is ok. If Pink mixes with Blue, or Purple with Orange you did something wrong.

Definition Token are olive and Modifiers are green. Special Thingies are Red.

NOT DEAD YET! I made an updated version of allocaters syntax highlight and have added in a stupid amount of additions both new and old. I'm not 100% on where and when to fit some function into a given category, but I did my best to keep things consistent. I've added numerous entries into mult-scope and special-things, even though they could have gone into other sections, to promote a bit of color variety and to warn about using the functions too liberally. The biggest addition has been to definition tokens so please be careful not to use something just because its highlighted.

Download and rename the files extension from .txt to .xml, then import the file as usual. Let me know if you spot anything important missing.

I don't know how long it has been since the notepad++ syntax has been updated, but i've made my own version based off of the original, and updated it with as many new keywords as i could find. It's probably not 100% complete, but it's more than the old one.

Save this as an .xml file, and import it into Notepad++ via Language > Define Your Language > Import:

Is there a way to pull scopes/conditions/etc values from the game? I have made a syntax file for Sublime Text based on N++ one, but would like to update it to 1.8/SD stuff.

Not that i know of, but i'll be updating my N++ version in the next day or so to 1.8. You can always pull it from that.

Ok, I was able to parse the trigger_docs output file for scopes, targets and triggers. But there is a lot of other stuff missing, like "possible" or "who". I have no idea (yet) from where you do pull it.
