I'm furious! I'm playing as France, and planning an attack against the BWB(Austria) and i'm trying to ally the ottomans, just so they can do all the heavy lifting while i go straight for Wien, but i can't! I have a stalemate between positive and negative factors, and the only thing that stops me, is the -20 not the same religon gruop factor. Is there any way to remove it? Like maybe a mod?

Secondly, i think that should be an event. If France is minus 150-200 relations with Austria, but got positive relations with the ottomans, that an event like the "Franco-Ottoman alliance".

What do you guys think about my question and proposal?

It doesn't really make sense for muslims and christians to make alliances without extremely overlapping interests during the eu4 time. Also didn't the ottomans and french just end up in simultaneous wars with austria whle not being allied?

I've done it as the Ottomans. Get closer borders and if both of you are rivals of Austria, it should be trivial.

In all seriousness, do everything you can to get relations to 200 if they aren't already and if all else fails just grab a province near the Ottomans and let the closer borders tip it. I also agree that the Franco-Ottoman alliance would be a very good historical event to have.

Nope, the alliance was official and lasted for centuries.

Yeah I think a non-sensical event that gives two of the strongest (if not strongest) powers in Europe a free alliance would totally help the game experience.

What are you talking about? All opinion modifiers are moddable.

Opinion modifiers are moddable. Diplomatic receptiveness parameters are not.

Maybe even a "Embassy to our rival's enemies" event that improves relations with all enemies of one of your rivals?
