While watching the livestream I was surprised to see the motorized infantry when disembarked the vehicle disappear. What I loved about Wargame over Ruse was that when you disembark infantry the transport vehicle remained on the map and still able to move about. In Ruse the vehicles just disappeared when entering combat. Can Eugen please keep their troop carriers in the game? I hate to see this realism and strategic aspect about keeping the vehicles back or supporting attacks taken away from the game. (This also applies to artillery and anti-tank guns).

The problems highlighted in this thread are non-issues in a WWII setting. And even on the off-chance that it would be a problem, there are less tacky ways of dealing with it.

Making transport trucks just warp into pokeballs when the infantry deploys is lazy.

Yea i really dont like the transports disapearing either really looks wierd just make them worth not throwing away. I would still perfer the old Wargame transport system then the current disapearing one. If there gonna be unusable after unload atleast show them driving back off the map. And for the Halftracks those were pretty usable for fighting back then they often fought as infantry support. Really only Trucks and Jeeps should return to base and even then just turn them into supply vehicles that can be filled with supplies or pick up infantry.

I personally like the Infantry per card and Transports per card be intependant of eachother and to bring more infantry out the transport has to be returned to the deployment zone and sent offmap to pick more infantry up.

It is a cheesy way to deal with it. Making trucks have no optics and giving extra points when destroyed(cost 1 point, give enemy 10 points, etc) may discourage it as well. Maybe coding it so enemy troops won't autofire on empty trucks or that empty trucks can't cross the front line may also work.

Obviously, halftracks and universal carriers won't disappear after deploying troops and will function more like WG APCs

i really like trucks not being able to cross the frontline and maybe forcing them to stick to roads would be another thing to balance them out.

I would want the trucks to automatically go fast mode out of the map once the infantry has dismounted. Them just disappearing instantly looks a bit weird.

Re: the issue of transports, I understand why people might not like it. One thing I haven't seen people bring up though is its use as a compromise to make leg/static divisions playable by getting their infantry to the battle in a reasonable amount of time (reinforcements walking to the battle might arrive by the time the match is over) but making sure its not possible for these divisions to mass redeploy their units, thus removing any meaningful difference between them and motorized/mechanized divisions. Something to consider.

Maybe non-armed transports should move back again off the map, but you can give them other orders if you want. However if they leave the map you get points back (like a deposit).

This way you can micro your infantry and transports if you like, or suicide them into the enemy, but it will come at a cost.

Or just don't let unarmed transports cross the frontline.

Or just let them drive off without the ability to give them other orders. I agree thats better than just fading away.

They disappear to prevent people from using them as cheap suicide recons, and personally I really like it.
Make the truck blind and that is it. Or simply make impossible to cross the frontline.

You simly make retarded the game by disappearing the only fast transport option. You cannot relocate any AT arty fast. Tanks can move all accros the map while after you once have disembarked the AT arty they turn to a snail. This is total idiotism.

Is not ATGM in WII which cause problem and because of frontline display such kind of cheap tool as in ALB was to see where the enemy rouighly you do not need suicide trucks. Since in RD is only a single card truck for 5 CP truck reacon disappeared.

In the stream armed transports aren't discarded, so you can probably use empty half-tracks, Bren carriers, or even the armed Jeeps and Kubelwagens to relocate guns.

the problem is that to move a at gun again you need the truck again.lose that transport and you are back to ho fast the crew can move it. Larger units the crew would barely be able to move without transport.
