not sure if this purging thing is working as intended.

That's pretty wonderful, but how is there spare housing? Shouldn't there be like -1000 free housing in that situation?

You don't have to house pops being purged. In this case, they're roaming freely across the gaia world wilderness, hoping to avoid being bagged by the tourist xenotrophy hunters.

Yeah the current system is very silly. You should only get bonus resources for pops that are actually declining. Perhaps based on the rate of decline, which itself could be based on the number of pops the purging species has on the planet (or military jobs).

It does, however, revive the one-planet strategy -- so long as that planet is willing to constantly be at war, Nihilistically Acquiring pops it will take home and put into forced labor camps to fuel its economy while it becomes an ecumenopolis.

it's still not ok to get unlimited unity and sone trade from a planet that has no infrastructure.
and over crowded is not a problem too what was the maximum penalty? -20 stability at -100 nothing nobles can't fix.
does someone want to calculated how long it will take to purge 1400 pops what was it around 4 a year?

pop approval is not really working or a user can't read it properly.
how can:
ruler 100% (82%)
worker 97% (13%)
undesirables 0% (0%)
be 7%

you will only get an revolt with low stability.
there is no risk if you prepare for that.

what did i miss? i don't even see an resort world add anything other then flavour in this case.
