Hi.
I'm trying to get the 'not so bad' achievement and I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong. I know its a pretty rare event and very RNG-heavy.
I started with Georgia (small kingdom so the game goes quickly), independent character, its on the plague's way as soon as it advances from India. I copied the save so I don't have to wait for it everytime I start again, just before the event 'the plague approaches'.

The plague touches my demesne but usually it doesnt touch my capital (it has a hospital with 40% of protection) - Should I change the capital?
The kingdom is quite small, is that important? Are there more chances to fire the event if I have more plagued land?

Is there a way to improve the chances for the event to fire or should I just keep trying? Btw I have all DLCs active except Horse Lords and Sunset Invasion.
Any help or advices would be appreciated.

It's enough if the plague is somewhere in your realm - it's just a very rare event. Maybe try a country/capital without a hospital and lower development, but I don't know if that influences the chances at all (except by prolonging the duration of the plague). Basically you can only wait around while the plague is in your realm.

Making a copy of your save right before the plague hits is a must for this achievement. With all the RNG, who wants to wait a 100 years for the plague to come back around if you miss out the first time? :)

First, make sure you meet all the requirements for the event chain to fire. You also need Supernatural events, Absurd events, and Reaper's Due DLC enabled:

Code:
    min_age = 16
    capable_only = yes
    prisoner = no
    only_independent = yes

    trigger = {
        OR = {
            any_demesne_province = { disease = bubonic_plague }
            AND = {
                any_realm_province = { disease = bubonic_plague }
                independent = yes
            }
        }

Second, even once you meet all these requirements, it will likely take many re-plays before the even fires. When I was trying for this last year, it took me about a dozen replays. Below is a thread I made last year about this achievement.

Like you, I had a level 4 hospital in my capital, but I was still able to (eventually) get the event to fire. Not sure if you also need to be secluded, but I was when I got the event to fire.

Be aware, there are other event chains that can fire while the Death is in your realm, which won't give you the achievement. You want the Living Dead, Doomsday, or the White Rider chains to get this cheevo.

Hope this helps!

Here's what I did.

I got the plague. My doctor had learning 23. I had the family trait and the other health artificats, but I do believe it's a -11 anyways. Either way, I did the risky option and he cut my leg off. it cured the plague. Your best option is a high learning doctor and stacking health buffs to enable him to chop something off and cure you.

Sorry, I think you're describing how to get the "I Got Better" achievement where you recover from the Black Death by being treated by your doctor.

This thread is about the "Not So Bad" achievement, where you need to survive the End of Days event chain, which only fires from having the Black Death in your realm. For "Not So Bad" achievement, you don't need to personally beat the disease, just survive the event chain.

Im trying with a capital without a hospital, yes. Thanks for the answer.

As @eastcoastceojam said, this is about another achievement. 'Not so bad'; you need to survive the 'end of days' event. The problem is that its too damn rare. Thanks for you answer tho, luckily I already have the achievement you're refering to.

Making a copy of your save right before the plague hits is a must for this achievement.
It was actually your old threat that gave me the idea, so thank your for that :)

First, make sure you meet all the requirements for the event chain to fire. You also need Supernatural events, Absurd events, and Reaper's Due DLC enabled
I turned off all DLCs except Reaper's Due to try to avoid as many events as possible. RD is active and I confirmed that supernatural ansd absurd events are on. As for the other requirements: Yes, the character is over 16 yo, he's capable, not a prisoner and he's the independent king of Georgia, not a tributary etc. The other part I don't understand, but I think it indicates that the plague has to be inside your demesne, and I can confirm that too. It is even in my capital, now that I retried without building hospitals (just secluding myself, or the dinasty simply dies too soon).

Be aware, there are other event chains that can fire while the Death is in your realm, which won't give you the achievement. You want the Living Dead, Doomsday, or the White Rider chains to get this cheevo.
Yes, lots of jews and cats events, even the event of the red mask (twice) and lots of 'secluded life' events but 0 'end days' events, and this is my 20~try. I guess I must keep trying. I think the worse of this is the feeling that you have something wrong and that you're losing your time lol. Thanks for the answer!
