Not responding on startup.

Hi,
(Note I use Windows 7 and bought the game via )
I've been using the 2.1.6 version to play mods since Charlemagne was released, but now whenever I start the game - mods or no - it either blackscreens or starts loading then freezes. If it freezes, I press or click any button and a windows pops up telling me the game is not responding.
Now, I've just reverted back to the most recent version and I get the same bug.
I've not yet found a similar case that has been fixed. I've tried verifying the game cache to no avail, and I've cleared out my mod folder. At one point I thought it was because I only has one or two Gb's left on my hard drive, bu now I have 50 Gb's spare and it still doesn't work.

I've played CK2 in the past with no problems, so it's not my specs.

Please try a full clean re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "delete local content" in Steam-CK2
- manually delete all files and folders left under Steam/CK2 AND Documents/Paradox/CK2
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.

IF that doesn't help, Please post a dxdiag.txt (you can delete everything after the end of the "Sound devices" section for brevity) and your Documents/CK2/settings.txt. From your Documents/Paradox/CK2/logs/ directory, post system.log . Open setup.log in notepad and search for 'checksum', post that line only here too please.
