the "star box" is simply a big ball of burning cheese. it would be simpler to simply click on the planet
to see it on the system box and have the planet appear and click again to have it go back to system
view. the star box provides no useful purpose but to take up space onscreen.
Just fought the purple pumkins of Von Neuman. Noticed that the dark side of my planets
are DARK! Hard to pin down targets and enemies in the dark there except on the large map
which kinda goes contrary to a tactical combat. On Von Neuman I do like the new look (really!)
Tron is alive and well! LOL!
Also the opposite in that many of the planets are so close to the sun (without
burning up somehow) you cannot see attacking ships except by using the long
range scanner screen and targeting the red diamonds (which can be bad as you
cannot tell what size target or type your targeting)
PS: what happened to defensive sats? I see them mentioned but never to be
found as buildible except as drone carriers. whats to defend planets with
other than missles. asteroids destroy them now even with fleet support.
Found the drone platforms tho. They do help alot.

It is only my second game but each of my colonies has a defensive fleet of about 3-4 cruisers. It doesn't cost much once you have trade and the system is fully colonized.
I am sure this was mentioned but designing or even looking at stations is bizzare and
difficult. many clicks and little info. no PD if you research it? just big weapon turrets
(1 per combat module)? Really tho, an orbital station is simply a ship without main
engines but with station keeping engines to maintain orbit. how hard is that to model
properly? they should be designable like ships.
