I like to kill Burgundy and Castille first. Castille and Portugal for the Islands and colonization. Burgundy for low lands.

You clearly don't prefer it if you complain about RNG. With no RNG the game is a cakewalk(and it already is with RNG).

You got unlucky with an event. That event shouldn't change. You had a higher chance of getting the Burgundy PU as France due to your high relations/alliance/RM, because that's logical. They gave us that but still didn't want to make it a 100% chance decision, because honestly that's stupid. We shouldn't be able to control every little thing.

The event should be logical. Explain to me how Burgundy giving all their land to an in-game arch rival makes sense?

1554 HRE True on tag:

R5: Managed to continue a 1480 save file of my Quadruple BBB (check recent posts). and made it into my first wc (that i finished). did a lot of tag switching for improved ideas and claims, France>England>Poland>France (QuadrupleBBB)>Mamluks>Yuan>Mongol Empire>HRE. I used the OP Religion switch tactic to revoke in the early 60's. Big thanks to the FlorryWorry discord (especially bast) for helping me get past the capital movement restrictions and small things like notifying me of the fact that forming mamluks with mongol culture gets you the oirat mission tree.

I snaked out towards oirat while slowly killing of the mamluks. when i got mongol primary culture i trucebroke the mamluks killed them off and reformed them, afterwards i just finished the oirat mission tree (asian part of it). because of a mingsplosion i managed to reform yuan and shortly after the mongols really fast, from that point on it was just declaring on everyone and waiting for truces to run out. I cut my land in "small" parts and got one cored mexican province with mongol culture and sunni religion and a lot of uncored provinces around it.

I then used [a mod was linked here, deleted for readability] on a copy to see what i still needed to do. did that in the actual save, gave my capital away. Got my new one in the americas. from that point on it was just beating up natives. I abused the fact that you get horde cb on bordering natives even if it isnt fully done yet to spam colonies next to natives on the coast then abandoned the colonies. around 1538 i also decided to just spam loans and debase and use that to last the rest of the game (needed to spawn in a lot of merc armies to deal with the rebel armies.

Last few years was just coring to get my vassals to agree with renovatii (OE modifier).

I hope the OP is keeping backup saves of his Ironman in stages, so can restart from an earlier stage instead of a fully fresh restart with all the RNG involved.

To be honest, it's this kind of thing that really makes me disgruntled.

Somebody did a WC as France before the 1600s so you should be able to...

Every time I watch a YouTube video of somebody doing a play through, everything goes their way. I've never seen anybody do a play through when you don't get the BI, Austria brings all of Italy into the HRE and allies Castile. Where are you supposed to expand then? Nobody ever answers that.

I did have a second play through where I got the BI...but...I didn't help them in wars because what's the point of losing loads of men over a totally RNG event, so I barely got any land just some northern Dutch provinces, then the Dutch revolts fired...but I was like, fine, I'll let the Netherlands become independent and ally them, but nooooo, I was forced into a war with them that Austria, Hungary, Muscovy and Aragon joined...that just makes no sense.

I'm done with this game. I don't think it's ever gotten to the point a game has damaged my mental wellbeing. I'm fine with losing just not losing under such random circumstances.
