I have a quick question on whether or not others are having issues with industry not receiving enough raw materials which in turn abandon and some commercial areas having issues receiving goods which in turn abandon?

I have what I think is a great highway layout, rail, and ports but for some reason my outside connections are not providing enough raw materials or goods. Can someone please help me out here and maybe point out a few things I can do so my industry and a few commercial areas here and there will stop from constantly abandoning, thx.

FYI, I will provide whatever info is needed as we go along with the question.

Yes that is the Borderlands mod, great one that is in tandem with Ambient Occlusion and Dynamic Resolution

And here are a few shots of the traffic overlay. As a note, I have the mod that allows me to toggle traffic lights on and off so traffic is not a huge issue in terms of flow from what I've seen and adjusted.

I have the same problem in my city of about 100k ppl - it hasn't spread to commercial yet, but all my industrial zones have about a quarter of the buildings abandon due to "not enough raw materials". I worked to improve traffic coming off the highway and it's still an issue.

Here's a link to a traffic screenshot of one of my industrial zones: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=421054189 (sorry not sure how to embed it here). The offramps on the right side are pretty congested, but not the ones on the left. It's pretty rare to find a cargo truck importing stuff as well.

The most conspicuous thing is the red train line congestion, so now I think its the trains - my trains only come in with a 7-13% load and they often de-spawn after not arriving for a while and like i said before, it's hard to find a truck importing mats. This results in too many trains and terrible congestion on my rails. I even turned off my passenger lines to try to relieve the congestion, so far it hasn't helped either.

Any other theories? Other than just hoping they can rebalance the trains in an update...

^ I've worked out all my transit to find any issues but everything is flowing well as far as I can see. I do remember not having the "not enough raw materials" icon for the majority of my cities growth but after I hit a certain pop cap I did notice the issue arising more and more and now its spread to my commercial regions although very sporadic. At this point I'm thinking it might be a balancing issue with the game or bug as far as goods and resources go?

Yes, I'm having exactly the same problem. And I've built my city really carefully. Traffic flow is solid, train station spacing is good, cargo and passenger lines are separated. Everything was fine until my city passed about 50K. I haven't changed anything very drastic, just kept growing it gradually, and now I'm at 62K and have these sporadic "not enough raw materials" messages along with "not enough goods to sell" warnings in commercial areas. My city is still growing, and the messages just come and go, but it's annoying to see blinking warning icons spread all over my city, and nothing that I do seems to address it. I've scoured these threads and tried everything people have suggested. I've played with specializations a lot, same deal keeps happening. It also happens in my farming districts, which shows that it isn't that I've suddenly run out of a resource. I have to think this is something that does need to be tweaked by the devs.

It also happens in my farming districts, which shows that it isn't that I've suddenly run out of a resource.
Farms need fertilizer, which you have to import or produce from oil or coal (don't remember which).

I still think it's a traffic problem in your case. It's good to distribute freight traffic, so not everything depends on the same routes and entryways. Having my commercial zones spread out over the city also helped.
