Hello board. I'm am a fairly new lurker to the board and I'm really enjoying this game! Anyway quick question. I'm having a hard time running governors on my planets due to lack of influence. In the early game, when I have say 5-7 planets I'm usually have to run 1 governor on my homeworld and maybe 1 more on a large expansion. At this point, I have 1 rival and 2 science ships out scanning. I try to work the situation log for first contact influence points and add to social research +1 influence tech but it just isnt enough to keep governor position filled on each planet. Is this normal? Are the game mechanics such that it is impossible to staff each planet with a governer? Or am I doing something wrong?

Also in your core, once your worlds are fully developed, unless there is some super-special reason like a research-focused world with a +research governor, your finished worlds really do not need them. They certainly don't need guys with +food, +build time, -blocker time, etc.
