Not DRM-free?

Hello there,

Is Cities in Motion 2 not going to be free of DRM like so many other Paradox games? My heart sank when what I read on both the citiesinmotion2.com and the Gamersgate sites seem to suggest that it is not DRM-free. I really hate DRM, and I don't want to tie my games to Steam.

I get a little tired of everyone always complaining about DRM all the time. Steamworks often means cloud saves and settings which is great, among other benefits. Some drm is very intrusive but come on - steam is basically a handy central place to launch your games from. All games not being available on all 3 major platforms (steam, origin, uplay) sucks because not all my games are in the same spot.

I doubt CO chose to use Steamworks just for fun. It might have something to do with multiplayer, especially with multiplayer between different dlc combinations.

You want a game, you pay for it, that's a simple rule and... that's the law, in almost every countries around the world. A few years ago, you had to cope with Securom or other DRM systems like it... With your CD constantly in the drive or using (cracked) images to simulate the CD and tools, barely legal, to mount those images. This was a pain in the a...

Since Steam, and now even more with UbiSoft and EA own platforms, you don't have to be restricted... No more "x activation remaining", no more issues... Even with steam, you can configure it to be quiet for 30 days if you don't need online functions... With every update automatically update, repair system, autimatic compatibility check, community integrated, even guides now, and all your games in the same place !

I think I bought almost all my games directly from Steam, except for certain collectors edition of games I like... Like Guild Wars 2 or Starcraft II serie and Diablo III.

Now you can complain about it but it seems to be quite a good deal if you look at what it was in the past. And as I pre-ordered on Steam, I will have the game as soon as it will be released... if Paradox don't take too much time as usual to put it on Steam

No, again? Please, stop spamming about DRM. Some people like Steam (and similar programs), some people hate them, but don't make so much junk about it on this forum.

Steam isn't DRM.You can play offline.

This is hilarious. It seems to be a hipster thing to dislike DRM. Steam, although isn't really DRM, does it well, you have offline play, its unobtrusive, easy to use, supported by many developers and publishers, there's nothing wrong with Steam.

Quit whining, it's getting boring.

Sorry if I haven't crawled the forums to see other threads about the same thing.
Still, that I bought so many other Paradox games was partly because they had no DRM.
Well, I suppose if you don't like it, then don't buy it, right? I won't whine any more, my dearest forum users...
