was there some legitimate reason they had to remove vassals leading levies in 1.07. It was way better before when you could fund almost every war capturing and ransoming prisoners. It made chasing those small levies around the map worth it when you knew you had good chances of making a few extra bucks from ransoming. Sometimes I would even go to war just to snag a few of their vassals for ransom. I don't see any reason why they removed this so hopefully its fixed in the next patch.
lol so true, many of my wars have been won by my smaller armies by gobbling up their leaders and selling them for phat booty. Then using said booty to hire mercs and capture more phat booty. Rince, repeat, and conquer your enemies.
Looking into the gamefiles a bit, seems the odds are only like 5% or so for capture per character, but its modified per title, so for an emperor there's only like 1% chance on capture after a victory.
I just made the odds one in four, and decreased the odds for higher titled rulers to be caught. Now the odds for capturing that emperor are closer to 5 to 10% on a battle. Makes it totaly worth it to go after that stack of enemies that is being lead by the emperor now.
Capturing the enemy leader is totaly gamey tho, since if you have a child ruler as an enemy, you can't even capture the little brat and haul her/him out of their castle and force a peace. (thank you dungeons&sieges mod for fixing this)
