World Market Bugs (other than dumb AI)

These screenshots were all taken at the same time. Note that there is plenty of oil, quite a bit of rubber, and tremendous surpluses of coal and steel.

Why is Canada trading in the red (even though it's giving away rubber and 2:1 coal for steel)?

Basically everything that is red in those pictures shouldn't be.

This was taken from a 3 player multiplayer game, no one was at war, Italy was the host, and Germany and Japan were players.

Why shouldn't it be? Canada asks 161 rubber in ONE go... Canada prolly won't be the only country trading coal for rubber. There prolly is not enough rubber for such large deals. Also note that 4:1 and 3:1 deals gain the upperhand over 2:1 deals.

That DOESN'T explain the failure of the steel for coal and coal for steel trades though. Something screwy appears to being going on.

I'm afraid you're not reading it right - Canada is trading AWAY rubber for coal, and is getting less than 1 coal per rubber.

Did it occur to anyone to check the saved game playing those countries. Maybe they dont have those resources to trade. Just an idea.

Might also be the case For Canada that would be weird seeing they get resources from the UK

I think that will be it. They probably had piled up rubber they got from the UK, but the daily rubber influx may not support such a trade deal for long ...

Yokozar, could you check your save as Canada and see if that's the case?

Here's Canada's resources in the best save file I have (not exactly from the screenshots, but close enough I think)

oil = 200.678
supplies = 6.374
rubber = 33.000
steel = 402.000
coal = 500.075

I'll email vulture the save now.
