Telephone ain't ringing

I searched for this, but found no answer, so if I messed up forgive me. To get the ability to build telephone factories I need Bell & Grey's Telephones (ID: 555). This Invention fires after December 30 1866, which is all well and good, except I need electric gears to build phones. Now this is where the bug comes in ( :p ), to build an electric gears factory I need Edison Light Bulb (ID: 554). However, the Edison invention only kicks off on December 30 1879, a full 13 years after the Bell Invention.

Well there is a distinction between an invention and a factory. Just because you can build something does not mean you can mass produce it.

Bell patented the telephone in 1875-6 so just conceivably a mass production system could have been in place by 1879.

Having said all that there probably is an unnecessary delay caused by the need for electric bulbs to be invented. I'll log it but it's not exactly a killer bug :) so it may not be top of the must-fix list. ;)

Ok, I misread Raifiki’s techtionary, he lists the death dates. I went over the actual script and found that the Edison birthdate is January 1 1869. The Bell Invention’s birthdate is January 1 1856. So while I got the dates wrong, the problem still stands that I can build a telephone factory, but can’t supply it with parts for a few years/

Just saw this now. And I agree, it isn't a big deal, just thought I'd let you guys know. It became my mission as Switzerland to build the first telephone factory after i saw there was a supply of 1, but no one was building it. I know, I'm compulsive some times :p

Hmmm... the startdates should've been listed there as well. Something must've gone wrong last time I generated the pages. I'll look into it when I get home. Thanks for letting me know (indirectly ;) )
