As Muscowy/Russia no neighbor bonus

Playing 1.05 NA version have been stalled at Trade Tech 2 for over 100 years. Next Level says 25000 ducat to next level... of course as I grab more Provs that goes up but No Neighbor Bonus for any Technologies even Naval which I am still at 4 at 1601 and Sweden, Poland, Teutonic Order/Kurland are all higher... Why no bonus?

Neighbor bonus is misnamed, if you in a different tech group from those whom you border. I believe all of the nations that you mentioned are Latin tech, and you as Orthodox may be giving that bonus to your less advanced Orthodox brethren.

That's pretty dumb, if you ask me. W.Europe -- that's where Russia got all the landtech from anyways.

That is true ... but Turkey also belongs to the Orthodox tech-group, and I seriously doubt they got much technology from Western Europe ... I guess it is one of those small annoying wrongs we must accept in order to avoid bigger and worse wrongs!
